tell me,
have you ever wept of a broken heart,
cry 'cause you don't know where to start,
cave in when the pressure is too much,
but still hold on to a spark of hope that lights up your dark.
tell me,
if like me, you search for truth in your dealings,
satisfaction in your actions,
courage in letting comfort go.
tell me,
if you are wisdom, for I am seeking guidance.
Mother's Day comes and we see love in abundance. unconditional.
for some reason, on Father's Day, angst and strong words gets thrown to some fathers..
for not being there, for leaving, for screwing up, for not showing enough love, for being the bad cop, for exchanging spoken words of advise and wisdom with actions instead.
we see children making sense of their father's actions, twining words to explain how love of a father is defined, how..how..how..
Yes. I've run out of words to understand a father's love. not all fathers. most are amazing and admirable. so much that even a person unrelated would tear begging for that kind of love.
the confusion is towards just the few, who made their choices, took to their egos, called in defeat in a battle that was his to win if only he had stood up and fought harder.
sorry but a child understands simple things; love or hate. stay or leave. care or don't care.
so please, no blaming the child if he/she lacks appreciation. they were deprived of a father's love.
even so..in all the anger and frustration and confusion, I pray for your health, happiness and joy everyday.
I pray you miss your children. and I pray the children will continue to make sense of your actions and understand that deep down in that heart, you do love you children, Dear Dad.
Daddy, in all honesty you had your moments of greatness that I will cherish. you were kind, you say you love most times. you tucked us in, you brought us up, you showed and reminded us of our religion. i'll try to make you proud, i won't mess up. even if you're not looking.
don't freak out or come fast to conclusions,
just smile and be thankful for the day;
when a boy from the office surprise you with a flower he picked out at lunch, or
a little kid comes running from afar to hug you,
a man handing you his seat in the train,
a stranger greets you with a smile and a "how'd you do?",
or even when a long lost acquaintance re-enters your life.
no they don't all do multi level marketings,
they don't all have problems for you to solve,
they're not all perverts or desperate for attention.
think of the world, sometimes, a little free of propaganda.
think of the world with a little time to smell the flowery blooms.
after all we are just humans, not coined by the term "human race".
and if here i make no sense, know that i'm not in that "race".
