Wow, if a woman said "no" to a proposal (a "no" mind you, not a "maybe" or "not yet"), why on earth would a guy ask again?
Glutton for punishment? No, it's not romantic. I'd almost say it makes him sound a bit pathetic/desperate...
Sorry if this sounds a bit negative Widaad, but it just sounded so odd to me that he would actually ask a second time (or maybe even a third?).
i think its okay if youask a second time, PROVIDED that there has been a change of circumstances since the first time. like, maybe things have become better between them..maybe she has started to reciprocate teh feelings which she was reluctant to do before.
but if nothing has changed and her feelings remain indifferent, i think the guy needs to know its time to move on

bt in the cerita the girl actually said no nicely. she actually loves him and he knows it, just that she wasn't ready. i guess because there was love, he didn't give up.
eventually she ended up proposing him.
